Welcome

Wait until next century! I don't think so. The Chicago Cubs were world champions merely 100 years ago. Just the like the 100 year floods and many other once in a lifetime events, this is our year.

My intent here is to document the day by day journey culminating in the World Series trophy being brought back to Chicago. Yes I know the trophy was on the south side a few years ago, but no self respecting Cubs fan would recognize that event as a triumph for the city of Chicago. I am talking about returning glory to the North Side!

In my lifetime, I have seen the Cubs some close. So many times I thought we would at least be back in the series...but alas...it was not to be. Maybe it was fate. Maybe we weren't ready. Maybe the baseball gods deemed the loyal Cub fans worthy of the honor of waiting 100 years exactly.

Whatever this season holds, I hope to document here. Wins, losses, rainouts. Most of these will be recaps from what I catch in the media reports. I will be present at Wrigley at least four times this year, and hope to distinguish those reports from the others.

So, with opening day only three days away, lets get ready for the season of a lifetime. Let's go Cubbies...
